Stuff gets real in this book. But it gets real in a pretty convoluted, somewhat confusing but more or less entertaining way :P

Not too sure what to think of this... firstly, I'll say that it definitely should NOT be in the young adult section.
I guess overall, the story & characters were really interesting; I got pretty into it, really. I'm curious about what'll happen in the next book.
However, the last... maybe third of the book took a decidedly dark turn with some rather graphic scenes that'd be worthy of an 18A rating. It was enough to make me seriously think of putting it down & forgetting about it.
That said, I did finish it, & I begrudgingly will probably read the next book in the series.... *sigh* you know what they say about curiosity killing the cat....I just hope it doesn't stay so dark. Not too sure what to think of this... firstly, I'll say that it definitely should NOT be in the young adult section.

A pretty good book. The characters are interesting and the world is pretty cool, too. It felt a bit like a "girl and her horse" type of story for a bit, but by the end it had gotten rather interesting.

Not bad, not bad. The artwork is really good, but I felt like some of the stuff was just jumping from one drama to the next. But not bad at all.

I would give this no stars if I could. Don't believe the blurbs on the cover - this book is NOT well-researched or insightful by any means. Maybe these ideas would've had some ground 100 years ago (which, by the way, is when a fair number of their sources were written). These writers don't take newer research into consideration, show a complete lack of knowledge about Judaism and Jewish history, twist and misrepresent sources in order to support their point, and show a very clear bias in favour of Gnostic mysticism.
An easy, quick example is their assertion that we celebrate Easter on March 25 because this is when Attis, a Roman god, was resurrected. But anyone who has taken the time to research any of this should easily find that Jesus died on the 14th of the Jewish month Nisan, which most scholars put as roughly April 7 or 8 by our calendar. Plus, the Jews had a lunar calendar, so the date changes every month. Also, no matter how hard they try to connect it to Attis, the fact that Jesus' death happened during Passover has a very significant and distinctly Jewish meaning and context that they pretty much completely ignore. Lastly, if you look up the actual story of Attis, it is significantly different from that of Jesus.
True, the idea of a deity dying & being resurrected was common in the ancient world, but the specifics of these stories and their history and significance to the people living at the time can't be overlooked, not while you're trying to put forward an unbiased, scholarly, intelligent argument. That said, this book is none of those things, so I suppose one shouldn't be too surprised when it comes up short on facts and long on biased, misrepresented, sensationalist drivel.I would give this no stars if I could. While the characters are a bit derpy in some instances, and I would say there are a few plot holes, this is a pretty good read overall. I wouldn't call it fine literature, but it's fairly well written, with an interesting central plotline, and it's just fun in general :)While the characters are a bit derpy in some instances, and I would say there are a few plot holes, this is a pretty good read overall. This book was alright. It's mostly the author using her own experiences to illustrate life principles. The principles themselves are often pretty good, but sometimes I found my mind drifting during the personal stories.

Basically a biography of Abe Lincoln, but with vampires. The two concepts were blended together really well, and made for a very interesting story!

This was a pretty good book. The story was really interesting, filled with political intrigue and great characters. I could really get into the characters, and the villains were creepy and made me squirm more than once. My only criticism is that the writing style is repetitive, but aside from that, it was well-written.This was a pretty good book. I'll admit I expected this book to be better, but it was still pretty good.
Downsides: a lot of stuff in the first half of the book was pretty predictable, and the way the pictures were worked into the story was a bit mechanical. Also, the end was disappointing (unless he plans on writing a sequel, lol).
Upsides: The pictures were pretty cool, and the latter half of the book was much less predictable. The settings and the core of the story itself are really interesting, and he wrote up a handful of really terrific horror scenes!I'll admit I expected this book to be better, but it was still pretty good.

A really great tool for understanding and appreciating yourself and others. I suppose the insights themselves are probably nothing new, but the way it's put together is simple and easy to catch on to, so that you can apply the ideas easily to any person or situation.
The only downside is that you would kind of have to guess what your colours are; there are quizzes to rank your colours but most of them cost something. I'd recommend doing a quiz before reading the book, but it's not a must.A really great tool for understanding and appreciating yourself and others.
