A delightful fantasy/adventure that can be enjoyed by both young and old. Huge fan of how "unprincesslike" Cimorene was. An all-around fun book to read. I wish I had read this when I was a kid!

I think I read this series a good 5 or 6 times when I was 8-12 years old. I genuinely think about it often, even 15+ years later. Cannot recommend it enough

I've heard many great things about the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, so I decided to give the first book a try. It's an amazing story about a princess that rebels against the way princesses are "supposed" to behave. I definitely recommend…

I love how practical Cimorone is – she takes the lead and is quick on her feet to think up solutions for her problems. Despite her stubbornness, she is rather sensible and deeply cares for her friends. I would say one of the biggest things…

Excellent, easy read! An absolute breath of fresh air in the fantasy trope.

This fast-paced romp spins traditional fantasy mores on their head. Wrede's imaginative and engaging style of writing is sure to capture the delight of readers. Cimorene is a reluctant princess, a young woman who earns for adventure and…

It's always nice to revisit a favorite story and find that it is just as good as you remember it. Princess Cimorene is one of my favorite heroines for her no-nonsense pragmatic streak, at odds against the world she inhabits, where…

Imagine having a dragon for a friend: powerful and perhaps capricious, but with your best interests at heart. I have a favourite dragon friend book for every age. For younger readers (maybe 8 and up) I recommend Patricia Wrede’s Dealing…

This fantasy novel is the first in a series of offbeat, engaging, and banter-filled books about spunky Cimorene who would rather live with a dragon than settle for the life of a proper princess. Fast-paced and funny, this book may delight…

I loved it so much! The book was so funny! A thing that bugged me though, is how the start was a little slow. Otherwise, it was such a good book.

This series is still an all-time favorite of mine. They were the first books I ever read that combined humor and fantasy to such great effect, and the brave, no-nonsense heroine is someone I still aspire to be like. I highly recommend it…

I wish I'd read this as a kid. I would have loved this to pieces. Like, there's nothing as awesome as a fierce princess hanging out with dragons. This is a fast paced, light read. Perfectly clean, perfectly adorable. It has an excellent…

A funny, interesting story about a different kind of princess. Cimorene asks a dragon to take her as its princess, melts wizards, sends away knights and princes attempting to rescue her, and just generally breaks all the traditional fairy…

This story fulfills that wistful thought of many girls reading classic fairy-tales; "why can't the princess and the dragon live together and be best friends without dumb knights ruining everything?" Princess Cimorene is the strong,…

I don't usually like fantasy books, but I LOVED this book. It's not your typical fantasy book with a damsel in distress. I would say if you like funny book with a strong female character you need to read this!

This is one of my favourite books! It's the first fantasy series that I truly fell in love with. If you're a fan of strong female characters and authors like Tamora Pierce and Mercedes Lackey you should definitely try this book.

This is one of the few books that I have on my shelf at home. It satirizes of the typical damsel in distress princess stereotype while still managing to have a good time. A good adventure story and introduction to satire.

Oh, I like a story that starts by dissing your typical princess, and moves right on to a spunky, intelligent heroine, who happens to be disadvantaged by her birth. Princess Cimorene would rather be eaten by dragons than marry an eligible…
