Add a CommentFor me, this is the best novel in the series. I LOVED the beginning part where the pair pose as Muslim men (Holmes just happens to be fluent in Arabic -- right.) This part of the book was, I think, the best. I loved the later part that takes place in and under the city of Jerusalem. But the last part drags for me. Still, I've re-read the book at least 3 times and will no doubt read it again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Non-stop action by the unlikely pair in Israel several years after General Allenby, the commander of the British military forces, conquered Palestine in 1917/1918. One of her best.
Wonderful book. I have read it 3 times not only for Mary and Sherlock's adventure, but because it is so well written I can feel the heat and dust of Jerusalem.
