Herzog does little to build a traditional narrative, which allows the viewer more freedom to examine and interpret on their own.

One of the best documentary films made on human psychology, Grizzly Man depicts the recent life of Timothy Treadwell as he roams for months alone with grizzly bears in Alaska. But TT's love for the bears and nature is so strong that he loses touch with reality and forgets the natural world can be a savage, merciless place where humans don't belong.

Timothy Treadwell had a great love for these wild creatures but definitely lost touch with reality. It's a bear and a grizzly at that. Sad and very tragic ending.

I've watched this movie three times about 2 or 3 years apart with new company that I introduce it to. Everyone loves it. The most fascinating part for me is that every time I watch it, it's a different movie to me. I see completely new things. This film is alive and layered in a weirdly wonderful way...kind of like Herzog himself, who was sadly overlooked at Oscars for this gem. It is one of the best.

No you are not but its not fun i promise. it even ate his watch. It was a horrible end. He should have had a revolver with him at all times.

A little slow moving at the beginning but once this documentary got rolling you really get the heartbreaking journey of a man who cared more for any animals than humans. Someone who was socially awkward and had a complete trust in bears, which we all know didn't end well. It was a beautiful film.

Fascinating documentary by Herzog, gives us a character study of a man who was clearly mentally addled... and who, frankly, had his death coming.

Definitely worth a watch as a character study of Timothy Treadwell. Not necessarily a character I would want to emulate, but very interesting.
