Summary
Add a SummaryEveryone Over The Age Of 14 Disappears All Of A Sudden. No One Used Magic Nothing. Everyone From The Age Of 15 And Older Disappear. Just Poof! No Noise No Nothing. The Only Thing That Appears Was A Wierd Wall That Burns When Yuh Touch It. Some Teens Are Developing Powers Including The Little Ones. You Have To Read This Book! Its Amazing!!
For some reason, everybody 15 or older dissapears. Kids rule the world. Disturbing, unnatural, and odd things happen.
Welcome to the FAYZ, short for Fallout Alley Youth Zone. There's no one who's over the age of fourteen; they've all "poofed," they're just gone. But the strangeness only starts there. There's a circular dome, surrounding the land within a ten-mile radius from the nuclear plant. The wall is impenetrable and burns you if you touch it. There are strange mutations in the animals, such as seagulls with talons, winged snakes, and talking coyotes. Some kids have also developed strange powers. The rules of the world are changing, and Sam is running out of time before he turns fourteen and is bound to poof. The kids from Coates Academy come down to the town of Perdido Beach, and one of them, named Caine, basically takes over. He acts as if he's benevolent, but people are dying, and it's because his sheriff and Captain Orc's little gang of bullies keep beating people up who break the rules imposed on them by Caine. And while some of these rules are actually valid, others prevent people from gaining any power to oppose Caine. Sam, Quinn, Edilio, Astrid, and Little Pete find themselves thrown together for survival. Sam knows that something is off about Caine, and he also has a power to shoot fire from his hands. They are constantly running from Caine or one of his allies. They eventually meet a girl Lana, who is a healer, and discover that Little Pete has special abilities of his own. When they save a bunch of kids with power from Caine, who had them imprisoned with their hands cemented in blocks, the kids join their movement to take Caine down. The struggle escalates, and all their lives are at stake. When I first read the summary for this book, I was extremely intrigued. This new world is almost like a parallel universe. Reading into Astrid and Sam trying to figure out where they were and what was happening to their world was very stimulating. There is a lot of exciting action in this novel, Gone was simply an amazing book; I don't think I can stress that fact enough, and I recommend it to everyone. This book is very thick, and I hope its length will not discourage anyone from reading this fantastic story.

"Some bad stuff has happened to all of u," Sam said. "Some very bad stuff. We're beat up, we're tired. We don't know what's going on. The whole world has gone bizarre on us. Our bodies and minds have changed in ways that are even weirder than puberty."

I did not think this book would be good. But i was bored and gave it a try and its amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!I am soooo excited to read hunger i just requested it!!!!!!! WARNING.contains somewhat graphic murder among kids, some mild launguage, and sexual tension. but a AMAZING book. You'll LOVE it
This book is really good, but really resembles lord of the flies. If you are going for this genre stick to the classics there better. The real let down was that the books slowly deteriorataded in quality as the series progressed. BK.1 5 stars, BK.4 3 stars
Loved this book! I could put it down and ended up staying up all night to read. Amazing
I read Gone while previewing it for my little sister, needless to say she will not be reading it. A great read but only if you are 14 or over. Extremely violent, but little to no cursing, adult content, or romance going to far(the characters are 14 and under). Strongly recommended.
Gone – Book one in the Gone Novel Series; a very good book but I found it a bit hard to follow. If you enjoyed this book, read Charlie Higson’s The Enemy book series starting with ‘The Enemy.’ Doctor-at-Bass! T. A.
“Gone” by Michael Grant is a gruesome and horrendous book! Michael Grant’s books just hold me in a way that I don’t want the books to end! This book is so descriptive and allows you to create such a visual image that it can make you jump out of your skin! “Gone” for the title was definitely a good choice. This one simple word explains what those kids world is like and what it may be coming to. This title alone is appealing as well, it gives you thoughts and makes you wonder is there anything left after things disappearing and being gone. This book is about a small town called Perdido Beach and a group of kids. In a blink of an eye, all the adults and kids over 15 just disappeared. All the babies, kindergartens, the young and the teens are left to fend for themselves. No one knows where the adults and their family are or what has happened to them! Plus the phone, internet and television connections are just gone as well. Their whole world just changes as bullies think it is their time to rule. The story just starts from bad and only heads for worse. The kids are helpless and have no one to turn to for help. Not only that, but the animals change as well into dangerous creatures. Overall, there is an insidious creature that skulks around. The kids are scared and not only the little kids but the big ones too all want their moms. Their world changes as the teens changes as well, all developing powers that are fatal and unimaginable to the human mind. This is an adventurous book that has an exciting piece of writing every time you turn a page and keeps your mind wondering. When I first read the beginning, I could tell that Michael Grant was going to have me devoted to this book. I think this book was great although it may have been a little long, I can say that it was worth it in the end. His writing to me is above and beyond because every chapter, every event gives you a rush of excitement. Gone is an action- packed killer, that keeps you on the edge of your seat at all time!! -Feona Nazim. Grant, M. (2010). Gone. United States of America: HarperCollins Publisher.
