Didn't Gretchen Rubin's family profit from the global economic meltdown? Isn't she therefore a purveyor of unhappiness to many, many others?

I like stunt fiction. And annual projects. So this book really was a win for me.

This book helped me learn how to eliminate clutter from my room. I'm kind of a pack rat and it really was a great guide for letting go of useless stuff. There are instances where certain chapters may not apply to every reader but the author makes every effort to have a least some parts of it to apply to anyone's life.

I struggle with it. I do think there is a lot of food for thought, and for that, I appreciate her perspective. I also believe she has more hours in her day than I do. I am a stay at home mom and this book exhausts me.

Pretty good read with great ideas, however as the author stated near the beginning, her experience is very different from other's experiences and in a way she cannot connect with many people as she has never had a huge tragic problem. For those of us without children a whole chapter is almost irrelevant.

Just your very average woman with a Yale law degree, excellent career, wealthy husband, fancy New York apartment, and cute kids, helping you find simple ways to happiness. Decent advice for people with FiWoProblems.

After hearing Gretchen Ruben interviewed on a talk show, I decided to give her book a chance. I expected one of those flimsy, dime-a-dozen self-help books. Since I am retired and very happy, I did not expect to learn a whole lot. I was, however, pleasantly surprised and fascinated to read about the author's year-long process to become happier. It made me realize that even I. Retirement, I should still set goals to ensure that I continue to be happy. This book is highly recommended for people in their twenties and thirties since it can give them a lot of personal insight. A good book.
