Worthwhile read for tennis players and non-tennis players alike. Directs the reader to identify the two selves that define our behavior and performance. That is, Self 1, which over-analyzes, micro-manages, and strangles our natural performance. And Self 2, which is our intuitive, natural, and ceaselessly adaptive self, which can learn and perform with ease. Improving one's tennis game (and virtually any other area of interest) is primarily a function of quieting (silencing?) Self 1 and allowing Self 2 to control and improve naturally. Building on zen principles, The Inner Game has broader implications and acts as a natural redirection of the reader back onto a productive, fulfilling path.
