According to Professor Carl Elliot, something is rotten in the state of medicine, and that rot comes from the pharmaceutical industry. “White Coat, Black Hat” is one of the best works yet written on the corruption of medicine by big business. It is also very funny, humane and beautifully written. With an abundance of anecdotes and a plethora of evidence, the author proves beyond a doubt that industry corruption, systemic failures, and influenced medical personnel are rampant in today’s medical industry. Sad and disturbing but good to know. A must read for all who work in the medical field.
