I was honestly disappointed...in a good way by this album. The thing about Katy Perry and the album Teenage Dream is that she has released so many mega-hits that only a quarter of these songs are new. Ignoring said megahits (California Gurls all the way to the One That Got Away,etc.), the only songs that I really liked were Hummingbird Heartbeat and Who Am I Living For. Circle The Drain was okay, but was honestly too un-Katy-like, in my opinion. Peacock blew my mind in a bad way. The lyrics were too risque for me but I admit that I love the beat. Katy Perry really shines only in her singles, where the mainstream pop beats and dumbed down lyrics (although admittedly not as bad as Ke$ha) make you want to hit Replay again and again. If you liked Katy Perry before, then this album wont disappoint. Just dont go expecting tons of new material, because they are used up. :) Check out my other reviews!
Oh PLEASE! Remember Lou Reed's "Walk on the wild side"? Or the Beatles "Why don't we do it in the road?" and "Get back". Those songs were just as racy. There are many artists and bands out there with far more explicit lyrics than Katy Perry's. I don't think you know the meaning of the word "promiscuous" (and by the way, use your spell check if you're going to be posting on a library site, please, lest you be responsible for the continuing erosion of the proper use of English among young impressionable teens). Katy Perry's a young adult woman who is married and does not have a reputation for fooling around. As for being an "exhibitionist", I've never seen her wear anything inappropriate nor dance in a provocative manner. In fact, she comes across as quite sweet, really. Your attack is gratuitous and unwarranted, and you most certainly are NOT being "nice".
