Add a CommentThis book is amazing. I can't wait untill the sequal. Everything is in great detail and sounds amazing. I wish it could happen to me. At the end you have a cliff hanger that makes you begging for more. It's amazing.
The book took me a LONG time to read due to the off track thinking of the princess, she went off thinking about a certain topic and continued into grater depth for far too long that made it very confusing for me to follow. Another blocker in the book was the mention of the Princess' relatives who are not a part of the center story, the same with palace officals and ancestors who are confusing to follow because the book has no family tree or glossary. The locations in the book are hard also imagine, so many places of the palace are described that it's hard to follow without a visual map. The good point to the book is the characters. Sylvi minus her being to much of a thinker is an ok character. Her pegasus Ebon is sarcastic and hilarious. Sylvi's parents, tutors and oldest brother are all high supporters of her when she gets involved in being able to talk to Ebon. Not one of my favorite books but ok.
found it a bit confusing at times as the story was a bit staggered and the ending is a complete cliff hanger. hopefully the sequel will come out soon
I found it to be really entertaining until about halfway, where the story seemed to lag.The ending left me feeling like I just wasted 400 pages worth of time.I honestly hope the sequel will be a lot better.
Definitely one of my favourite authors. I'm so glad to find out that there's going to be a sequel! I've read others of hers that kinda left you hanging and there wasn't anything to follow.
Noooooooo! I hate cliff-hangers! It's a great book, but be prepared-the ending is a horrible! There's another book or two coming, but, boy! I'm still reeling from the end! Other than the ending, it's a great book! I'm really looking forward to seeing how the author continues it!
Robin McKinley recently mentioned this is going to be a three-book book, not two. She'll have another book (Shadows, perhaps) coming out before No. 2 does. Can't wait!
I'm very happy with this book, and excited to see what happens with the sequel. I feel as if the story is compelling, and the moves and manipulations are true to the deep interactions we all have.
This was one I adored. It was so sweet, so well-written, and so heroic, that it pulled me in and I could not get out. I sure hope another book follows it, for the end was hanging, but the descriptions of lands and characters and of the friendship between the princess and the pegasus were amazing. A good, rich read!
Ending that felt more like a middle, a deus ex sort of ending too.
