Heads up, talk about suicide by movie, this is the film that slits your wrists! UGH! This documentry is about a young lady, I think is in her early 20's but acts like 10 who says she doesn't know what love is and is in capable of loving. That wouldn't have been so bad if she had a personality, animation and emotion that gave you the notion that she could develop into a warm giving person to possible receive love and inturn give love. Not happening here. I kept thinking, maybe she's special and is not fully functional. She is supposed to be a comedianne and musician. Well, that left a hole in your gut. She can't sing or play music. People that do comedy for the most part are very intelligent folks. Girlfriend was lacking on many fronts. They went around the country interviewing numerous people married, single, divorced and asked them what love was and there were some great answers. Not for girlfriend, she missed that boat. The boy, Michael liked her a lot but dumped her, he said he couldn't do this any the camera rolling and following them everywhere. But I don't think it was just that I think he figured out that what was intreging in the begining turned out to be a head case that he couldn't drag around and call a girlfriend. If you don't mind seeing about an hour and a half of your life slip away, sit through this documentry. If you don't want to give up that chunk of your life, take yourself to dinner, a real movie, a drink with real friends and family who love you and you love them. Don't waste your time.
This movie was so awful I couldn't watch the whole thing.
Really loved this quirky movie. The deleted scenes were hilarious too!
Strange little movie. The fancy camera work indicates multiple cameras or takes, and so gives the game away. The "exploration" of love isn't that revealing, and the plot is rather slow. Possibly self-indulgence on the part of the makers.
A unique premise, but it played a little too lackluster and odd for me. The ending felt like they even threw in the towel on the idea.
It has some heart to it, to say the least. At times it can be confusing since it's a documentary with a fictional story interwoven in it. It could have been better.
an interesting pseudo-documentary but the only parts that can be trusted as true are the non-actors who are interviewed. Various sources say that the 2 actors were or were not an actual couple for a time.
It was cute and kinda boring at hthe same time.
Quirky movie. But then again, isn't anything that Michael Cera does quirky?
