This was an exciting work, with kidnappings, epic quests and death battles - but, in keeping with the teen rating, suggestive but not graphic. I was intrigued by the style of the writing for this work. It took a while to understand that the spelling and punctuation (no quotation marks) were to give a rhythm and feel to the language of the main characters. Interesting to watch the familial relationships grow and change. Recommended.

This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read! I was in camp last year and bored out of my mind from lack of reading material, and I just picked up the biggest teen book I could find when I was on a 'trip' to Walmart. This was one of my best spontaneous decisions ever! The plot-line is interesting and there is always something thrilling or funny or thought provoking (or all three) on the next page. The actual language and format of the novel is so different from that of any other book I have read so far. I am waiting impatiently for the next book in the series to come out! Please hurry!

I had a tough time getting into this book. It wasn't until around page 160 that i started to get really interested.
The style of writing was the off-putting part. I don't usually like present tense books.
however I am glad that I was stubborn and stuck with it. The plot was really great, and i dove straight into the sequel .

Catches ones interest right away. Not on par with the Hunger games Trilogy etc but a worthwhile read.

"Far into Earth's future, 18-year-old Saba ekes out a hardscrabble existence with her father, twin brother, and younger sister on a dry, dusty, used-up scrap of land. Saba cares about very little besides her family, so when Lugh, her twin, is kidnapped, she immediately sets out to save him. Little does she know the dangers she'll face on her journey -- or the powerful secrets she'll learn. First in a trilogy, and reminiscent of science fiction classics such as the movie Mad Max and Frank Herbert's Dune novels, Blood Red Road is sure to satisfy fans of intense, fast-paced stories that blend action and romance." This was, by far, one of the best series i have ever read. i devoured "Blood red road" and then demolished "Rebel heart". it was twisted and deceiving and constantly keeping you on your toes. i thought i loved the "Hunger games", but then i read these books and it was as if i had been blind and now could finally see. Moira young has to be my absolute favourite author right now. These books deprive you of sleep, and time and leave you desperately begging for more!

This book is absolutely AMAZING and a must read!!! The first tiny bit might be a little boring, but then it's all action all the way to the end. The language is unique and may get some getting used to, but it fits in with the book perfectly. This book is for all Hunger Games fans, and Divergent Fans--- it will blow you away!

"Jack grins. Anyways, Saba likes to look at my bare chest.
Lugh looks at me. Frowns. Is that a fact? he says.
I feel myself go bright red. It is not a fact, I says. You stinker, Jack."

Ever heard of the rule of three? he shouts as we run.
No!
If you save somebody's life three times, their life belongs to you. You saved my life today, that makes once. Save it twice more an I'm all yers.

Lugh goes first always first an I follow on behind. An that's fine. That's right. That's how it's meant to be.

Lugh shines like the sun.
That must of made it easy fer them to find him.
All they had to do was follow his light.
