Andrew "Ender" Wiggin thinks he is playing computer-simulated war games at the Battle School; in fact, he is engaged in something far more desperate. Ender is the result of decades of genetic experimentation, Earth's attempt to make the military genius that the planet needs in its all-out war with an alien enemy. Ender Wiggin is six years old when his training begins. He will grow up fast. Ender's two older siblings, Peter and Valentine, are every bit as unusual as he is, but in very different ways. Between the three of them lie the abilities to remake a world-if the world survives. This, the author's definitive edition, also includes an original postscript written and recorded by the author, in which he discusses the origins of the novel.

The characters are full-fleshed, terrifying, warm-hearted, and memorable. Ender's world, or should I say universe, is mysterious, contriving, and fascinating place that edges on the brink of destruction. The plot remains upbeat, never misleads the reader, and runs fluidly throughout the entire book. Now, I understand why Ender's Game consistently ranks in the top five of America's science fiction novels.

This is BY FAR my favorite book! I felt so close to Ender. I love every bit of it and have read it multiple times. I don't like the following books in the series but I love this one. I would totally recommend it to anyone. It's a rather easy read but fun regardless. Read it! You won't regret it!

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It was a very harsh story, but it drew you in and made you feel very connected to the characters, especially Ender. The book was not all fluff; it brought up some points about morality and doing "what is right". I highly recommend it!

Since I am not a science fiction fan, this is not a book I would have picked up. However, while looking for something new to read, this book as recommended by another patron of the library and it was a pleasant suprise. Full of adventure, twists and unexpected plots, Ender's journey is somewhat believable.

A book to add to my top 5 all time favorite books! The complexity of relationships, the development of characters, the moral struggles Ender faces. . . all incredible! This book does not feel like a science fiction novel - a good recommendation for someone who might not like Science Fiction but has to read one.

This is a terrific read for any kids who love science fiction! Ender Wiggin, a child genius, excels at military combat and tactics. He is earth's hope to defeat "the buggers", aliens who threaten the existence of earth. Fabulous battle scenes and wonderful description of battle games. I certainly enjoyed listening to this cd.
