"First-person, present-tense narration brings psychological tension and raw authenticity to this unusual and gripping survival story. Sloan Price is so damaged by her horrifically abusive home life that when the zombie infection hits her town, she sees it a welcome opportunity to die. Yet when she’s barricaded inside the high school with a group of other teens, she finds herself fighting for life instead, even as personal relationships strain and flesh-eating monsters beat down the door. Pushing the boundaries of traditional brains-and-blood-soaked zombie stories, This Is Not a Test is a must-read for fans of Carrie Ryan." I didn't really expect it to be this good. Thought it was just another zombie gorey and desperate post-apocalypse kind of book, but it was more than that. It had a bit of romance, and intriguing parts about her families' past. Really hooked me in. I finished it in one night! :)

Oh wow. This book was great - seriously depressing - but a captivating read. The characters were great, but I repeat: this book was sooo sad! The stuff that happens is probably realistic for what would happen, but still majorly sad. And, I do not deal well with open endings haha....I want to know what happens next! I wish there was a sequel or something.

This book is really intense! I agree, it was well written and kept me reading, even though I wouldn't normally read a zombie book. It is a little dark and nihilistic for me, however.

A good zombie book. This one doesn't over-complicate itself, it just tells a good, believeable story. The characters are well written and the story keeps you on edge. If you like zombie stories, don't miss this one!

loved this! It was very different from her other books, and while I'm not usually a fan of "zombie stories", this one was both suspenseful and stirring. again, loved!!

This is a CREEPY book! It is sooo good, though. The best zombie apocalypse book I've read in a long time. It's intense, gory, but manages to stay "human" and believable. The only zombie book I've enjoyed more is World War Z.
