I really liked the prequel to the maze runner series, I found it almost better than the actual trilogy as it had a good story line and lots of action. The characters were very well developed and played vital roles in the whole story. Good info on how the flare started and it had awesome flash backs of marks journey leading up to where he is now, wonderful story.
Just fantastic! If you are A fan of YA dystopian apocalyptic fiction, then read this and "The Maze Runner" trilogy. I am such A fan of these books. I wish James Dashner would continue on writing more about this world. Sure to please you I promise! ~Tim
This was a great book! I agree with kesha1123 regarding the characters becoming a part of you. I am also wondering about Thomas and Teresa's relation to WICKED and how/why they aided in the creation of the maze. Overall, this is a fantastic dystopian book, and series, that I highly recommend to you folks!
my least favorite in series but its still good
this book was really good!!!!!
I have never been so torn reading a novel as with this read. I was so disturbed by much of the depressing depiction of this prequel to Maze Runner yet it was extremely well written, thrilling, frightening, and addicting. Granted the title states it all, but I have never read a book that saves a bleak silver lining until the utter end. Despite all the end of the war dilemmas, (even before the Flare plague, humans in the city behaved worse than the most brutal animals)I found Alec, Trina, Mark, and Lana to be heralding characters that will stick with me forever. I now ponder how Thomas' maze running and Teresa's potential creation of the WICKED facility have to do with the kill order. Right now the stories seem very isolated even with the abrupt explanation at the end of book one. Overall, an author's job is to keep the reader intrigued and engaged and Dashner does just that with this prequel and its descendent.
took me a long time to read this book. I had 96 people ahead of me
A very great prequel to the Maze Runner series, it gave you more info on how the flare started. Although i didn't really like the ending.
The ending is so sad! :( but it answered all my questions about how the sun flare happened, and it was very exciting.
