Both inspirational & educational ... the kind of DVD that parents of daredevils would love giving to their progeny (as a gift really to themselves).

The Crash Reel gave me much more than I expected. It accomplishes a lot while depicting the desire to win, compete and keep doing what you love even when it there's a possibility it could kill you. The Kevin Pearce-Shaun White rivalry is only a portion of this film. The core is about Kevin Pearce, his accident, his recovery and the unwavering support offered by his lovely family. Traumatic Brain Injuries are more prevalent in the world of extreme sports; I had no idea. I would love to know how the filmmaker gained what seemed like unrestricted access to the family and snowboard community. I liked this movie so much that I'll likely purchase it.

Unlike the previous commentor, I enjoyed this dvd and I think it will stick with you long after viewing it whether you can personally relate to having experienced a brain injury or not. There is a lesson to be learned or maybe a few within this story that can do everyone some good

The film does not showcase the rivalry between the athletes for more than 10 minutes maybe. It's really about the recovery of Kevin Pearce and the controversy surrounding the dangers of extreme sports. People who will enjoy it most will perhaps be those who have also suffered brain injuries or damage and can relate to the struggle to return to who and what you once were.
