A really interesting look at an underwater city, after our planet has been over polluted. I thought the world building was really interesting and the supernatural elements - Sirens! - were great. Definitely a book fans of John Green will want to pick up (though it felt a little *too* John Green sometimes). An unexpectedly good debut centered around a popular jock realizing there's more to life than sports and drinking. Naturally he meets a girl along the way but I like that the book was more than a love story, it was a good coming of age novel. Definitely recommended.Definitely a book fans of John Green will want to pick up (though it felt a little *too* John Green sometimes). A heartwrenching look at girls in love in Iran. While I didn't always get why Sahar was in love with Nasrin (who didn't really seem to appreciate her or treat her well), I felt for her struggle to find a place to belong and be herself. Loved it! Really interesting look at kids dealing with OCD and how things can escalate and also go into remission. I liked the love story too and Adam's point of view was unique and easy to relate to. Easy to see why it won the Governor General's Canadian Children's Award. Fantastic read.Loved it! Great narrator for this non-stop action book! I have no idea how he keeps the voices straight but it's pretty awesome. Definitely a recommended audiobook if you like the Percy Jackson books!

Two Boys Kissing is a really unique perspective on gay rights told from the point of view of gay men lost to AIDS. It follows the lives of a bunch of different gay teens, each with a unique story. It took me a little while to get into it but then I really loved it. I got right into each of the characters and was really moved by their stories. Definitely recommended to fans of more literary fiction like John Green. Two Boys Kissing is a really unique perspective on gay rights told from the point of view of gay men lost to AIDS. I enjoyed this read about Aiko's struggles with cerebral palsy and her desire to be invisible while still wanting to be recognized for her manga. The numerous conflicts could have made this into a real gritty issue book, but the author keeps it light and not too angsty. I loved that Aiko was defined by more than her disability. I really loved the first volume of Ultimate Spider-Man. Miles is such a refreshing hero - a sort of everyday type kid who can be unintentionally hilarious at times. I can't really speak to how he fits in with the Spider-Man 'verse, as I'm not as familiar with it, but as a standalone graphic novel, I'd really recommend this one. It's a lot of fun so far and I'm looking forward to more of Miles.I really loved the first volume of Ultimate Spider-Man. A perfect summer rom-com read. Not *too* sweet, and full of interesting characters with interesting conflicts. More intelligent than your average Hollywood rom-com, basically, but just as fun.

If you've enjoyed John Green's other books, Fault in Our Stars has the same kind of vibe with super witty characters and lovely writing. I found the characters a little *too* witty, but it was still a good read. Make sure to have kleenex on hand.
