its Neil Gaiman, you know what to expect. Fantastic worlds to discover, slightly confused young man, amazing characters to meet along the way. impossible to put down.

Ah, Neil Gaiman. A cup of finely diced magic, a soupçon of sexiness, a luscious broth of humor. Seasoned with fun twisty riddles being solved and characters revealing their unexpected-but-perfectly-foreshadowed origins, and you have a…

Once upon a time, this was the first Neil Gaiman story I ever read. He hooked me with the cover, the beautiful artwork, and the faery tale goodness it contained. And she lived happily ever after knowing she had found a new favourite…

Although I'm an admirer of Gaiman's novels, I was disappointed in this title. To me, it lacked originality. I was also confused by the gratuitous references to the size and shape of background female characters' breasts and the odd racist…

The book was okay but the movie is a lot better.

This charming and whimsical book has a few dark edges, but is mostly a fantastic journey led by the expert guide of all things weird and fanciful, Mr. Neil Gaiman. If you love a modern fairy tale and aren't afraid when thing get a little…

Review Bias Warning: I actually love the movie much more - so much more. I mean truly and it's because the love story is much more prominent in the movie. It's turned into much more of a romantic fantasy adventure. I also watched the…

Third time was a charm! What a wonderful book! I’d read American Gods and I didn’t get it, and the first Sandman graphic novel was too scary for me. Stardust was just right, beautifully written. Lovely novel about a boy seeking a fallen…

I was actually able to finish this book in one sitting!! It may have seemed mighty, and it was, but it sure was interesting right from beginning to the end. I was borrowing this book off a friend who was adamant on getting me to read it,…

My favorite Neil Gaiman book so far. A timeless tale of love and magic, Gaiman creates such a fantastic world filled with great creatures and villians. Highly recommend the audio as well -- Gaiman reads it!

The movie is much better than the book. I found the latter anti-climatic and rushed.

While the narrative mostly follows Tristran, I found myself feeling bad for fallen star Yvaine most of the time! The book follows vivid and strange characters as they travel through a vivid and strange world.

This is one of those rare times where I would not recommend a Neil Gaiman book. I had no idea there was a movie, but you might want to check out that instead. The book was just okay. I don't really recommend it unless you want to read…

This is a book my 8th grade Language Arts class read together in class. After we read the book I let them watch the DVD. They enjoyed the fiction tremendously,... a great break from all the non-fiction required now with Common Core.

Having watched the movie before reading this book, there were some similarities with certain scenes from the book. However the book covers some of the background elements that doesn't feature in the film, which is interesting. In the long…

I watched the movie before reading the book (didn't know the movie was based on a book). Although the movie may have been a bit over-the-top in parts, overall I think I preferred it over the book. As others have said, there really isn't a…

This book is beautiful. Strikingly different from the Neil Gaiman norm, Stardust is bright and lyrical. The plot all ties together with no detail left untouched. I have read this book four times and still connect new phenomena each time.…

Some great writing in the book, but the pacing threw me off--particularly around the time Tristan meets the hairy stranger. There were a lot of elements that I really enjoyed about the book, but I never felt sucked in or got to the point…
