Not all of Grisham's books are worth reading, but this one is. A good read.

Nov 06, 2015 Unlike Michael Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer, Rudd Esq. ran his law office in a bullet proof van. He was a self-righteous defense lawyer fighting for alleged criminals, especially for little guys and friends against the powerful…

I will always like what Grisham writes. This one is no exception. Good story telling and characters.

" by the time wilson takes the stand and is sworn in, the jurors are suspicious. for the occasion he's wearing what he always wears---grimy jeans with lots of holes, battered combat boots, a green t-shirt proclaiming the greatness of some…

THE ROUGE LAWYER was yet another thoroughly enjoyable read from prolific author, John Grisham. I am a big fan of courtroom dramas and legal thrillers. This book reads more like a "slice of life" taken from a period of time, in the life…

Loved the different stories and humour...well done

This is a definite step up from the latest few JG's novels. I really liked it and could not wait to get back to it. It is reminiscent of his early books and I hope there are more with this same main character.

This novel is written in six parts. Each part is a standalone story, yet there are some crossovers in characters. I didn’t like that organizational style. Otherwise, I would have given the book a 5-star rating. I’d rather read a single…

I borrowed this book and was dismayed that throughout the whole book some borrower decided to "proof" it with his/her pencil. I think they were looking for trite, hackneyed expressions. It was distracting as they continued this behaviour…

I enjoyed this somewhat different book style. Fast paced, several stories going on. Intrigue and mystery. One of the more enjoyable and interesting Grisham novels. You want to see what happens to the different characters and stories.

I haven't read a Grisham novel for years and now I remember why. I picked up Rogue Lawyer and it's all mini-scenes. I quit after the second section; I realized that this is more of a graphic novel (comic book). Clearly he's successful…

Counsel Sebastain Rudd, a divorced criminal defense lawyer in the city, operates not from his downtown loft, but from a bulletproof, well furnished and MOBILE (death threats, and attempts) cargo van, where he defends some real characters…

Sebastian Rudd is a street lawyer who takes on the toughest cases and the roughest clients. Need an accused child killer defended? He's your man. Jury tampering, bribery and extortion are all in Rudd's playbook. In this novel, several…

Nothing too outstanding, but a quick-paced read that can be read again and again. I like bringing this book on vacations and long car rides, as it's just enough to keep me entertained but not particularly riveting.

My favorite Grisham lawyer. Sebastian has no illusions about cops. Unlike the false narrative of cops being such wonderful, caring, keepers of the peace, the truth is that too many of them are barnyard bullies: hugely obese, shaven…

Paralleling exactly recent developments in the US legal system, Grisham gives us a scathing view of how unfair it really is. The defence is not the only side to take advantage of dirty tricks. Minorities and socially marginalized folk…

I absolutely loved this book and I certainly hope Sébastian Rudd will continue solving impossible cases in the next John Grisham thriller.

I was ready to give up after the 2nd story, then I read again, some of the reviews here, and after a week, decided to read on. Bad decision. While Sebastian Rudd may be good at his profession, he is such a dislikable character I was…

At first, the plot seemed a bit diffuse, more a set of short stories, but the details dovetailed in a generally satisfying manner. The overall writing style is crisp and snappy in dialogue - Grisham actually seems to having a *lot* of fun…

Formulaic to some extent, hates cops, prediliction for blood sports which as a (trauma) nurse, I find particularly apalling not to mention how easily he switches between what's moral and what's immoral; greases palms with silver when it's…

Gripping and simulating. I left everything I was doing to finish this. There were different cases and their background was very vivid but they finished very quickly.

As noted by others a bit of a different format but I quite enjoyed it once I got into the second "chronicle".

I hope Grisham writes other books with Sebastian Rudd as the main character. I also hope that they will actually have a better plot than this one

Not a typical Grisham novel. More of a collection of short stories. If you are patient enough, he tries to tie them together. Intriguing character, entertaining read - just not what I've come to expect from Grisham.

This is a very entertaining book from beginning to end-more like main characters in many short stories. Can't say I like the ending but considering the main character's life, I understand it. I haven't given much thought to those who…
