Ten years after the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps, this piece documents the abandoned grounds of Auschwitz and Majdanek. One of the first cinematic reflections on the horrors of the Holocaust, the film contrasts the stillness of the abandoned camps' quiet, empty buildings with haunting wartime footage.

Everyone should watch this film, without turning away, to see what can happen to anyone in the name of war. It would be just over a half-hour of your time, to think about the consequences of violent conflict between peoples or nations. A film that must be committed to collective memory.

This is a 30-minutes documentary done by renowned French director Alain Resnais. Interlaced with colour images shot 10 years after the concentration camps were abandoned, and war-time B&W footages, this film is a powerful reminder of the atrocities committed during WWII by the German regime against POW's and Jews. Some images are very disturbing, and hence the film may not fit the appetite of all. With French narration and subtitles.

Filled with walking skeletons and half-rotted corpses... powerful.
