Turning the self-help genre on its head, this humourous tongue-in-cheek guidebook satirises modern culture as it teaches how best to self-loathe. Beginning with the basics of self-loathing, readers learn to loath everything about themselves, including body, hair and character, whilst covering self-loathing in sex, dating, fashion, the workplace and even death. With unwelcome insights, the invaluable resource includes quizzes, sidebars, appendices - everything needed to make readers feel truly bad about themselves.

While I am completely down with the whole premis of this book, I found its insistant tongue in cheek style painfully annoying. I really wanted it to end, and about 3/4 of the way through I realized the library police would likely not notice if I just gave up reading the rest. So I did. And immediately liked myself all the better for having made such a fabulous decision.
