In the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library of Yale University there lies a 400-year-old document that no one has been able to decipher. Twenty years ago the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith secretly placed a guard to watch over the document. The guard, Father Ronald McCallum, is overwhelmed when an autistic child visiting the library appears to read from the manuscript's pages. Finally its secrets will be revealed! Father Benicio Valori, priest and clinical psychologist, is sent halfway around the world to verify the boy's ability to read the manuscript . When the manuscript is stolen, things begin to unravel.

fast paced and in the genre of science fiction.

There exists today a work of approximately 240 pages that has been carbon dated to the early 1400s, the Voynich manuscript. Not so remarkable? The interesting part is that no one so far has been able to read the words or understand the meaning of the diagrams. To me this is more fascinating than the discovery of a new planet. Many hoax theories have been proposed, all sound plausible but scholars and scientists have dedicated time deciphering the text with no accepted conclusion. This manuscript has inspired imaginative novels and works of research with theories including channeling and a forgotten language.
Brad Kelln is a forensic psychologist, hostage negotiation consultant to the RCMP and an author. In Tongues of the Dead he offers a tale of "what if" . Consider this, Nephilim, half human, half angel in a power struggle with the Vatican or at least some of the Vatican's people gone wrong, each wanting the manuscript for their own reasons.
Suspend belief and enjoy.

This is not a thick book. It is fast paced action throughout. I read it in two sittings - staying up to 3 am to finish because I just had too!. Brad Kelln makes you want to know more, not only of the subject matter - the angel/human offspring, but what happens with his characters. What becomes of Jake's family? What will Benicio do?

Blends fact and fiction into an interesting story, similar to Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code.
