I started making a list in my diary entitled "Things I Have Been Silent About." Under it I wrote: "Falling in Love in Tehran. Going to Parties in Tehran. Watching the Marx Brothers in Tehran. Reading Lolita in Tehran." I wrote about repressive laws and executions, about public and political abominations. Eventually I drifted into writing about private betrayals, implicating myself and those close to me in ways I had never imagined.

the book is really good, and I'm a big fan of Ms. Azar Nafisi, but unfortunately the performer of the audio book, being very unfamiliar with Farsi, Farsi names, idioms,... has made the listening to book very difficult and sometimes unbearable. most of the times I had to rewind more than once to understand what she says, which sometimes sounded like a joke in Farsi
she also fails to pronounce the name of major characters in book correctly, like nezhat, saifi,...
as always, I recommend native farsi speakers for these performances, specially Ms Nafisi's books, which are really good
