Set in a Colorado mining town in 1920s where an avalanche traps 9 children coming home from school, only 4 survive. Dallas explores the backgrounds of the adult characters and then how the tragic experience of the avalanche impacts each of them. Characters are complex and interesting, themes of loss, forgiveness, survival, and family in an harsh environment.
