Sandman Slim is back from Hell. After wreaking unholy havoc in author Richard Kadrey's resoundingly acclaimed Sandman Slim, the demon-slaying anti-hero and half-angel fugitive from the underworld returns in a brutally funny, eye-poppingly inventive, and totally addicting follow-up, Kill the Dead. If you're a fan of Buffy and Jim Butcher, Christopher Moore, Neil Gaiman, and Warren Ellis, or you dig the dark urban fantasy vibe of Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, and Simon Green, you'll cheer Lucifer's onetime personal assassin as he signs on as his ex-boss' Hollywood bodyguard...and takes on the zombie apocalypse almost single-handedly.

This is a highly enjoyable urban fantasy. Sandman Slim is a nephilim that ended up in Hell and came back to Earth in the previous novel. He's now Lucifer's bodyguard in this book and is also working for the Vigil (an organization run by an angel). If you're easily offended, give this book a pass. There's a lot of swearing and the angel and Vigil's employees aren't that pleasant. I love it for the genre mixing of urban fantasy, noir detective style, and the religious imagery it uses.

Book 2 in Kadrey's Sandman Slim series. After returning from 11 years exiled in hell to seek revenge on those that sent him there, we now find Stark teaming up with the same cast of characters as he battles the dead - zombies. Awesome! Can't wait to read the third book.

Smashing follow-up tp Sandman Slim which definately should be read first as this picks up right where the first one leaves off. You'll fly thru this novel. Yeah I liked it.
