In these final two seasons, Baby turns two-- and into a total terror; Daddy Earl confronts his "diaperphobia"; Charlene's theory that the world is round lands her in scholastic hot water; Robbie deals with overwhelming pubescent urges; and in the final controversial episode, the family's jumpin' Jurassic lifestyle gets the big chill.

Dinosaurs is an incredibly unique TV series. On the surface level a typical sitcom based around a family...except this family is entirely comprised of dinosaurs living in a prehistoric suburb, complete with work-a-day jobs, school, and hobbies. Conceptual jokes abound, hilarious (and hilariously normal) situations arise between family members, etc.

However, Dinosaurs is not a bunch of costumes and special effects with a frivolous script. It is the epitome of biting satire (pun firmly intended). The commentary on North American culture is witty and at times chilling to the point of being disturbing. There are moments that simply aren't funny, and they're not intended to be. They are intended to make you go, "...wow."

I watched Dinosaurs as a child and found the situational comedy wildly funny, but only as an adult have I realized the real genius of this show. It is a mirror, at once clever and dark, and worth a watch if only to see the reality of how we live portrayed by colorful, honest characters.

Highly recommended for fans of Jim Henson, puppetry, paleontology, and parody.
