I liked how they involved Morris in more of the book than usual. Also, Louise's bridal shower sounded fun. Would have loved to been there :) I think it is cool how they write about the investigation when one of their own is murdered.

I have read every one of the books in Robb's "In Death" series. It's hit and miss: most are good, some are very good and some are excellent. This latest one, Promises in Death is excellent.
The plot is believable, the villains have appeared before so there's some history and the comedy is fun but not forced (especially Louise's bridal shower).
Peabody gets spunkier in every book and there's a nice evolvement of yet another co-worker (Morris) who becomes part of Eve and Roarke's ever-expanding, extended "family".
Good detective work, great one liners and a satisfying ending.
What more could you ask for?

This whole series is fun. After a while it's a bit formulaic but I've enjoyed the main character's inner struggle with her past and her gradual adoption of kinship and love among her friends. The romantic liaisons are very harlequin romance but the action and suspense balance it well so that it doesn't become soapy. There's just enough future tech to qualify as Sci-Fi as well as action/mystery.
