Is there a genre for Da Vinci Code style thrillers? Maybe purportedly high-brow action adventures? Whatever it is, this is one of them. It's not the worst. (There are any number I have started and not finished.) But it isn't terribly good, either. (As reference points, I'd give The DaVinci Code itself four-plus stars and the follow up, so dreadful I've forgotten its name, one star.)

The central conspiracy is something about Pythagoras, but I have no idea what the factions are or why they are struggled for world domination. Doesn't really matter. The main character (Nada Gold) is enjoyable. So are some of the minor characters, but there are too many of them. I found myself skimming parts but then actually stopping to read.

All in all I would not call this a satisfying read, but it beats watching television or paying solitaire on your computer.
