Here, together for the first time, are the shorter works of #1 New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher -- a compendium of cases that Harry Dresden and his cadre of allies managed to close in record time. The tales range from the deadly serious to the absurdly hilarious. Also included is a new, never-before-published novella that takes place after the cliff-hanger ending of the new April 2010 hardcover, Changes.

Add a CommentA collection of short stories from Butcher's Dresden Files universe. Most of the stories in this book have previously been published in other collections. This book saves fans the hassle of tracking down those books. The only new story in here was the Murphy-centric story that takes place after Changes and ends the volume.
As other reviewers have pointed out, the quality varies. My personal faves were the two Thomas stories. The weakest was the "comedy" story that wasn't very funny. Still, this is a must have for the Dresden fan. Especially those that are Jonesing for a hit between novels.
I love the Dresden Files books but this one is a special treat!
Awesome as usual. A couple of the stories I had read in anthologies but some were new to me. I need to read the rest of the Dresden Files now!
#12.5
A fun collection of short stories. Although you've probably seen several of them in other anthologies, it is nice to have the Dresden stories all in one place. Also, this one includes "Aftermath," which takes place immediately after the end of "Changes" for those who can't wait for the next book.
This book mostly contains stories that were in anthologies. I'd already read them so this book almost held no interest for me except two that were never published and the final story which finally gives you something after Dresden got shot. Still don't know if he killed off the main character or not.
I love both his series. Great read
