I have read most of the books in The Vampire Diaries series, and this was one of the best. There are two different types of The Vampire Diaries books, those based off of the show, and those of which are based off their own stories. LJ Smith is the original author and creator of The Vampire Diaries, and the CW network created their own line of books. Origins was created on the characters Damon, Stefan, and Katherine. The book revolves around Stefan Salvatore and his struggles being in love with a vampire. Little does he know, the vampire, Katherine, continues to compel him slowly feeding him her blood. By doing this, she slowly turns him into a vampire and Stefan faces many problems dealing with his new vampirism. If you like vampires, I would definitely read The Vampire Diaries series. I think these books are better than the Twilight series, and if you don't believe me, give them a try! I rate this book 4.5/5 stars. I hope you read Origins! It is one of my favourite books, and I don't think many people are aware there are Vampire Diaries books, as well.

The book offers background information on his relationship with Katherine. The show and book reflect each other, with the book offering more details. I really enjoy watching the show and decided to see if the show adapts the book well and it does. A quick read and a must read for fans.

I liked this book, even though there should have been a little more action. But, I like it because it's just like the TV show.
