What a nice surprise, same old story told very well with new twists and the main character does grow and change over the course of the set. Nothing is ever more corrupted than a small town and this one is. Acting is great, writing great and the plot is very believable highly recommendable

Decent, not high on my list. Don't necessarily need subtitles on this one.

This is an exceptional drama. Owen McDonnell is tailor made for this role and his acting is piercingly believable. The supporting roles are well cast.

Filled with secrets, moral ambiguity and murky pasts this series is captivating. It does an excellent job of introducing twists and turns which are believable and leave ourselves asking "who are the good guys?"

Good 3 disk series. I would recommend.

Not quite as engrossing as Hinterland, but good. Lovely sweeps of the countryside, English spoken well enough to understand. Evil ex-cop, worthless cop, and idealistic young cop in his first command. All characters, bystanders, and walk-ons are portrayed as suspects and are clearly up to no good. The "single-handed" part is that he is the only person on the show who isn't evil or useless except perhaps the bartender who might be working both sides of the fence.

Gritty, dark, a well written and executed crime drama.
4/5 stars!

Both seasons were excellent. I want MORE!!! Can't believe they only have two seasons-what with all the shenanigans going on with the crooked ex cops, Finbar, and Eithne! COME ON!! That show could go on and on and on and on! What a shame. And the good part was that there was a subtitle option, which comes in handy when involving Irish, British and Scottish tv shows or movies, even though the accents were so clear, there really wasn't a need for them most of the time. Really, really a good show. I thought it might be, but was really more than surprised at how good it was. Lots of plot twists and turns and SECRETS that lead to surprises that leaves one's mouth open in aghast. Wish there was more season made.

Way too much time travelling the country roads, getting in and out of cars and not enough getting on with the story.

Took me until Episode 3 to really appreciate it. Different from the usual cop or detective shows. Can't wait for the 2nd set!
