We're in the midst of a parenting climate that feeds on more .More expert advice, more gear, more fear about competition and safety, and more choices to make about education, nutrition, even entertainment. The result? Overwhelmed, confused parents and overscheduled, overparented kids.

In MINIMALIST PARENTING, Christine Koh and Asha Dornfest offer a fresh approach to navigating all of this conflicting background "noise." They show how to tune into your family's unique values and priorities and confidently identify the activities, stuff, information, and people that truly merit space in your life.

The book begins by showing the value of a minimalist approach, backed by the authors' personal experience practicing it. It then leads parents through practical strategies for managing time, decluttering the home space, simplifying mealtimes, streamlining recreation, and prioritizing self-care. Filled with parents' personal stories, readers will come away with a unique plan for a simpler life.

Helpful for whatever stage of the parenting journey you are in. Read and re-read, note take on anything that helps and toss out what doesn't. Loved their ideas, resource list and go-easy humor. Blessed by this amazing find!

Parents Christine Koh and Asha Dornfest know their stuff: both have practice implementing minimalist strategies in their own busy households and they have the added benefit of crowdsourcing what works for tens of thousands of parents via the blogs they run. They seem uncannily familiar with the management issues every family deals with, including how partners connect (or fail to do so) as parents.

Perhaps more importantly, the authors of "Minimalist Parenting" believe YOU know your stuff. They instil confidence that their readers have all the tools to parent successfully and they help clear the clutter in order to find those tools. They show that chaos runs rampant in every family but that schooltime, mealtime, playtime and everything in between benefits from editing. Identify priorities, nix the excess and see results: seems like such a simple formula for a more joyful and relaxed home life.
