This is a sad, but not unfamiliar story of youth poverty and abuse. It does provide some insight into the reason's for a rebellious teen's behaviour. It is not clear whether this book is targeted at teens or adults. I was disappointed that the role of Unicef in the aid's crisis was not indicated. I am not sure how Unicef 1played a role in Ana's life. Ana has good medical and educational support and it is not clear who provided it. The story would have been more compelling if we were aware of how Unicef was involved. Good references.
