An enjoyable outing with the Fargos. While the previous story The Tombs was better, this was still enjoyable. The Mayan Codex was cool and the villain was okay. Still, a fun adventure. If you like Indiana Jones you'll probably like this series.

The plot isn't bad. But the writing is juvenile. It's a couple of steps up from 'see Spot run', but not by very much.

Not up to my usual standards. The villain is so dull and vain, I have a hard time taking them seriously, even though they are (SPOILER) drug dealers. There is no treasure; just finding abandoned ruins. woo-hoo. so riveting. Now if it were El Dorado, than that would be a different book. If you know Cussler's past work, this one is definitely worth a pass.

I liked the archaeological and historical references and Sam and Remi are much less annoying than they used to be.

The book was okay – but not one of my favorites.

Another classical Cussler in the "Fargo" adventure series. Fast paced; easy read; historically enlightening and entertaining.
