'Keeper of the Lost Cities' was well-written, interesting, and full of mystery. I loved the way it really drew you into the characters' lives; Sophie's struggle with who she really is, Dex's jealousy of Fitz, Grady and Edaline's sorrow and pain at the loss of their daughter, and Alden's struggle with obeying the elvin law or doing what he knows is right. Altogether I enjoyed this book.

This is the best book I have every read (well, not including the rest of the books in the series). If you liked Harry Potter, Percy Jackson or Land of Stories this is the book / series for you. You probably never read anything better then Shannon Messengers amazing, twisted, cliff hanger endings.

The Keeper of the Lost Cities, written by Shannon Messenger is the ultimate read for anyone who adores the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series. This novel is the first book in the ongoing series, which at the moment has five books total, with a few more to come. While reading this novel, I found the reader had found and created a world filled with mystery, questions, meaning and as well as humour, this perfect balance of topics will leave you smiling or crying after each chapter. Although this novel is intended for middle school aged children, I do believe that this series, much like Harry Potter, can be read by anyone who enjoys fantasy and fiction. Overall, this novel is a 6 out of 5 in my opinion, as Messenger created such an intriguing story and plot that settles the crave of our childhood dreams.

BEST BOOK EVER!!! I would recommend this book to anyone above the age of ten. The adventures are so amazing!

Sophie Foster has a secret - she's telepathic. Then suddenly a mysterious boy called Fitz appears and whisks her away to an amazing land where she finally belongs, can finally be normal, until she gets news that will change everything. Review by Avonlea Gallant.

"Okay" she agreed. If he refused to be serious, so would she. "Fine. I'm an elf. Am I supposed to help Frodo destroy the ring and save Middle-earth? Or do I have to make toys for the North Pole?" - Sophie Foster

She never really belonged or fit in anywhere…until a mysterious boy arrives and shows her that there's a place where she belongs. Suddenly her whole life changes. Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret—at least, that’s what she thinks…

But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.

But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out.
