Gets better and better. The characters make it interesting. Costumes and period music are great. Can't wait for season 3.

For the first time in maybe ... EVER ... I noticed the costumes almost as much as the vintage cars! Essie Davis is one of those women who seem to look good in everything, and they give her some stunning outfits. She never wears one twice. The stories are improbable but fun, like Agatha Christie. Ms. Davis has just starred in a horror movie called THE BABADOOK, which is getting some Oscar buzz. She looks nothing like Phryne Fisher.

All wonderful -- fashion, investigative procedure, awareness of lack of reproductive rights , unabashed feminist female protagonist who has a great sense of humor and irony. Interesting window to early 1900s treatment of women in Australia. Love the music and the fashions.

In many ways, the second season of this series is a huge improvement to the first season. The stories are much better in this season. The actors, as always, are splendid in their roles. However, I thought the characters of Dot and Hugh were not as substantial in this season as in the first, which was disappointing because they're wonderful. Great costumes & sets too. Very enjoyable mystery series. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful show. I highly recommend it. It has a little of everything: mystery, romance, action, philosophy, and a lot of humor. Love the actors, and it's fun to watch something set in Australia in the 20's. So glad that the second season is available now.
