I love the smart cheeky humour that underlies these films. Science and invention, two themes that permeate modern life, take a walk on the wild side in the CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS series. An inventor who managed to create a machine that produces food out of water in the first film has been hired by his childhood hero in this sequel; he receives a quest to find the very machine he made, as it is producing living, breathing food monsters. This sequel is truly delightful, fun for both children and adults, which is what makes a family film truly remarkable. I was genuinely surprised that this film didn't get a Best Animated Feature Film nomination at the Oscars, as it very much deserved it. I'd recommend it.
