Very disappointed in this book. Title says “Skills” which to me means learning how to do something, but, besides learning to hand pollinate, there wasn’t any how to descriptions/instructions. Just general information of how pioneers/his ancestors lived, and how the author lives.
Most sections are like the one on fruit trees...fruit is good, growing your own organic fruit is best, here’s a photo of some of our fruit. Zero information on old timey advise on how to care for or prune the trees.

About half of the book is about vegetable gardening, then flowering plants, then chickens.

good discussion on home made yeast and health benefits. It pre-digests gluten.
Discusses the difference between sourdough and this starter.
