Toby discovers a long hidden secret. She approaches her liege Torquill (the man that help raise her). He admits to not telling her because of love and wanting to keep from hurting her. EVERYONE hates him. The water witch (sorry forget her name) admits to knowing the truth but didn't tell her because she would attack said person and die, and the water witch needed her to complete a task before dying. Everyone is fine with that and it makes sense. Torquill the parental figure who loves her is only there to be everyones punching bag. I closed the book and have stopped reading the series.

I waited months for this book and it didn't disappoint!

The main character is like a macho teenager on steroids, and her male compatriots not much better. People bare their teeth and snarl and swear and utter grandiose threats a lot. <yawn>

I enjoy this series very much though I would like to add, that this is the eighth book in the series. And you have yet to add the sixth and seventh book to your collection. "ashes of honor" and "chimes at midnight". Hope you rectify this oversight. Cheers

“Love is love. It’s rarer in Faerie than it used to be—rarer than it should be, if you ask me. If you can find it, you should cling to it, and never let anything interfere. Besides, he has a nice ass.”
