I'd think twice before teaching my children that the Amish are a benevolent culture. They are notorious for their puppy mill operations and extreme cruelty to animals.

Or just Google "Amish puppy mills"

A sweet little novel about the trials and tribulations of a young girl who just so happens to be Amish. Good read-alike for the Little House series or Caddie Woodlawn.

it is funny to find a book about a little Amish girl that is literally a big pain in the butt because she gets in to ton of trouble. and the author is Amish so I guess it was pretty much a story about when she was a little girl. I have not finished the book yet but still. i am sorry i amwasting yor time with his really long comment. my opinion is over bye.

Very nice little story. Interesting insight into another culture. I think a child from 1st -4th grade would enjoy this book.
