What I love most about this book is the simplicity of it. Many homeopathic or natural recipe books are far too complicated with ingredients you have to look high and low for. To make a product from this read, you simply have to go to the grocery store!
I also appreciate how the author gives slight variations on recipes for people with dry skin vs. oily skin.
Brilliant.

Lots of safe and effective recipes here, most made with easy-to-find food ingredients. My favorite recipe from this book is the rose oil bath, made with rose water, rose oil and olive oil. Very nice!

Perfect for beginners! Simple, clean, and green recipes to follow, most of them only have between 3-5 ingredients. This is one of the 'cleanest' beauty books around -- so clean you can eat most of it.

However, the ingredients are mostly food stuff that you smother all over yourself, so it's messy and like food, it doesn't keep for longer than a few days. As someone who has eczema (and after going through a dozen of these types of books), I question the use of some of the sweet and starchy ingredients on dryer and thinner skin.

While they may be great for people with young and strong skin, putting fruit and honey on skin that is thin and dry could cause candida and bacterial infections.

So if you have skin problems, just be careful, speak to your dermatologist and do patch tests before committing to putting things all over yourself. I’ve seen 3 dermatologists in the past year and all have said to me that sugars on the skin promote infection. I guess there’s a good reason why we always wash messy juices off the body when we spill it on ourselves! If you have thick and strong skin, you should be fine with most (if not all) of the recipes in here, but still, it's better to err on the side of caution to ensure healthy skin. Enjoy!
