SUMMARY: Hank the teddy bear tells his friend Hummingbird about the dream he had the night before. He dreams that he was flying in a boat carried by a balloon. Hank tells about everything he does during his flight and his favorite parts such as when he floated back down. As he tells Hummingbird about the dream, he acts it out.
ILLUSTRATIONS: The illustrations are photographs of constructions made by the author. Everything in the pictures has been constructed from the trees and grass to the flying boat.
THE GOOD: This is a nice simple tale with an easy flow that would make a lovely bedtime story. Hank is an adorable bear especially as he acts out his dream for his friend. I enjoyed the ending too when Hummingbird begs for a second telling of the dream and Hank includes his friend in the story. It's a lovely tale of friendship as well.
THE NOT AS GOOD: Some of the pictures are a little too dark and some have fuzzy backgrounds. This is a photographic style, but I would have preferred to see each detail in the picture clearly in order to better enjoy them. The text was also very thin causing a low contrast.
AGE RECOMMENDATION: Ages 3-7 (the simple text would be perfect for emerging readers)
