"High Castle". The War may be over but that's only on the battlefields with guns, tanks, airplanes. Now the powers that be are fighting for control of the world. Oil is the big player. Foil is not a policeman per se but he is no less the investigator. His former driver Sam is married and unaware of just how fragile her hold of life is when she agrees to go undercover in the house of an oil company magnate. Episode 2, "Trespass" is one of the more interesting Foyle. There has seemingly always been anti-Jewish sentiment. In 1948 the State of Israel was created and somehow has survived through the decades since. Some people in Britain are interested in ending the ability of Israel to exist as a state and are willing to take out the Jewish people through murder inside Britain. It sickens me to see the Godless hate in them. A well written and well acted episode. Sam means well but she sometimes has little common sense. Stay in the car means stay in the car. "Elise", the last episode and possibly the most painful one to watch. Foyle's War started in 2002 and ended 2015. I read budget concerns were the nails in the coffin. I will miss this quality of programming. So much depended upon establishing a relationship with its' stars. They are growing older too.

All of the Foyle's War episodes have been top notch, and these last ones in the series are no different. But the very last episode is so dark and depressing that it should come with a warning.

Absolutely awesome...I want more of this. I have watched every episode of the Foyle's War series and have enjoyed every one of them. I might just start at the beginning again.

I just finished watching this latest series of Foyle's War. It is still an excellent series, although this series is not as fast-paced as earlier ones, it is more thoughtful and probing of the complex problems following WWII. The research is impressive and the additional bonus features on the last disk revealed that there will be more series coming. Filmed mainly in Liverpool to capture authentic architecture, the stories are up to their usual standard. For those who care, Foyle's driver Samantha "Sam" Stewart (Honeysuckle Weeks) is PWP. You'll have to watch the series to find out what this means!

It isn't fast paced and action packed - it is a thoughtfully written story about interesting and well developed characters.
