Renowned as the richest gold strike in North American mining history, the Klondike Gold Rush (1896-1899) set off a stampede of over 100,000 people on a colossal journey from Alaska to the gold fields of Canada's Yukon Territory. The Klondike Gold Rush is an incredible story of determination, luck, fortune, and loss. In the end, it isn't all about the gold, but rather the journey to the Klondike itself.

Wonderful vintage film and photographs. IMHO, I would rate "The Klondike Gold Rush" at 5.0 stars.

My only complaint is that this documentary is only one hour long. There is enough material out there to produce a ten hour documentary series.

This hour long documentary enriched my viewing of the TV movie series "Klondike" ***. Amazing footage of the INCREDIBLE journey and legacy of the men and few women who formed the human stampede to Dawson City for a piece of the mother lode.
