Such an over-the-top, unrealistic story - full of cliche's and sterotypes.
And yet, I couldn't put it down!
The titular character of this noir thriller, Freedom, has lived a life devoid of her past ever since entering Witness Protection. She even had to give up her children to keep them protected from the crazed family of her former husband. Now her brother in law is out of prison and looking for revenge. Freedom must confront her past enemies and personal demons to keep her loved ones safe in this debut page turner by Miller.
This book is pretty gritty and includes everything from biker bars, the Witness Protection Program, religious cults, super messed up families and Native Americans in the desert. Lots of violence and really unlikeable characters. I'd say it's written in the same pace and tone as Gone Girl but more like Michael Robotham in style and content. It's a good quick read.
