The summary above does not refer to this book. It may refer to Steal The Dragon. I added a Summary in this section, I really enjoyed this book, the city had enough detail, the heroine was intriguing and humorously outrageous. I would so like to see more stories about Shamera, the Reeve, and her city.

Sham, a young thief, survives in a section of the city of Southwood, known as Purgatory. As a child she was apprenticed to the kings sorcerer, Maur. But invaders from non magical Cybellia now rule her city. Sham has hidden in plain sight as a boy since the invasion, but the death of her mentor, Maur, has altered her goals and dreams. She plots revenge against the entity that killed Maur, and is soon recruited to join a court investigation into a serial killer who has been attacking nobles over an 8 month period. While playing to the hilt, her role as the Overlords mistress, she is now a key element in the discovery and removal of a demon, the actual killer. As a heroine, she is feisty, nonconformist, humorous and resourceful. All the characters are reasonably well developed, and enjoyable.
