"Meet The Bear--a cat who carries the weight of the world on his furry shoulders, and whose wise, owl-like eyes seem to ask, 'Can you tell me why I am a cat, please?' Like many intellectuals, The Bear would prefer a life of quiet solitude with plenty of time to gaze forlornly into space and contemplate society's ills. Unfortunately, he is destined to spend his days surrounded by felines of a significantly lower IQ" --

A must read if you are a cat person. I had a cat just like "the bear" and am familiar with the 'woe is me' soulful look.

I liked the stories about each individual cat as well as how they interact with their humans and other cats. You never know who or what is going to come in that cat door!

There are also some amusing hand drawn diagrams such as the sleep wheel of a cat person that includes 'listening to cats scratching carpet to get into the bedroom' and 'listening to cat throw up'.

If you like this book, make sure to check out others from the author. They are just as good.

Tom Cox is a very funny writer. He has written three other cat titles: Talk to the Tail (2011),
Under the Paw (2008) and Close Encounters of the Furred Kind (2015). Not currently available here.

Each of these would be a great asset to the library.
