Clever idea and appealed to both the English major and foodie in me. A few of the books I hadn't read so those were lost a bit on me, but fun, interesting and clever, especially if you, like me, LOVE books that have food and recipes interwoven.

This book will make you hungry! Food scenes are pastry chef Nicoletti's favorite parts of any book, and so she shares the stories with recipes to match, from brown butter chocolate chip cookies for If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, and pork pie for Great Expectations, to red wine-rosemary bread for The Odyssey, and clam chowder for Moby Dick.

A pleasure to read, and afterwards motivation made me buy whole vanilla beans, and resolve to pay better attention to literary food scenes.

This author clear LOVES both good literature and good food--and is an excellent writer...her comments about books are insightful and witty, and the recipes they prompt her to make are inspired!

Very interesting! The author, once a pastry chef and now a butcher, combines her life-long love of reading with cooking by pairing up specific books with specific recipes. I only tried one recipe but it didn't turn out well, I suspect mainly due to my lack of culinary skills. Still, very easy to relate to the author's love of both reading and eating. Very enjoyable!

It was okay. Very quick read. I was annoyed at how complicated all the recipes- even the ones that should not have been - were. Hope you have a food processor because even the biscuit recipes requires one.
