Kirkus says "tough, no-frills." I'd call this book vicious and cruel to women. I quit it very early.

Not an easy book to get into because the setting is the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan, of which most Americans are unaware exists. Submerged in corruption on all levels a homicide detective attempts to do his job while surviving within the system.
