A disappointing conclusion. The first of the three was impressive and very compelling; the second was good, not as impressive as the first. The third book does not live up to the precedent and the expectations established by the first two - very anti-climactic. The writer sets the plot up for a massive crescendo with the first two books and much of the third. The final quarter or third of this novel, however, not only doesn't take the bait - it doesn't pursue it. It was some of the most lazy creativity I have ever encountered.

I will probably at least start the follow-up quadrilogy; but if I detect more of the author of this third book than I do the author of the first two, I will not finish it.
